Jose Hernandez, who worked hard as a child picking strawberries and cucumbers is now traveling into space today as an Astronaut of NASA’s shuttle Discovery.
Hernandez says he comes from a very humble family of migrant farmers. He described his upcoming flight as “the culmination of a dream” that he has worked hard for along with his families support.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon will be most honored to have Hernandez visit and have dinner with him once he returns back from space where they will cover topics on space. Hernandez offered to serve as an advisor for a future Mexican space agency, and the president will no doubt be keen to discuss these details further.
